About this directory
Wildfire Home Hardening Directory is an independent directory of licensed contractors who do wildfire home hardening, defensible space and brush clearing work in California. It is run by an independent California data project — not owned by any contractor, insurer or marketing network.
Why it exists
California law requires defensible space (PRC 4291), home sellers in fire hazard zones must document compliance (AB-38), and insurers now price wildfire mitigation into premiums. Yet finding a licensed contractor who actually does this work means digging through government PDF lists and generic review sites. We pulled the public data together in one place: who does the work, where, with what license and rating.

- Using this site is free. We never charge homeowners, and quote requests carry no obligation.
- Every contractor's license links to the official CSLB verification page — check it before hiring.
- Some contractors pay for placement. Paid positions are always labeled (Featured, Slot #1) and never change the underlying data. See how we build the data.
