Wildfire Home Hardening Directory (https://homehardeningdirectory.com) is operated by 1001666860 Ontario Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). By using the site or buying a listing subscription you agree to these terms. Questions: contact@homehardeningdirectory.com.
What this site is (and is not)
- We are an independent directory. We are not a contractor, and we do not perform, supervise, guarantee or warrant any work. Any contract for work is between you and the contractor you hire.
- Contractor data comes from public sources (CSLB, Fire Safe Council lists, Google) and may be incomplete or out of date. Always verify a license yourself on the official CSLB site before hiring — every listing links to it. See our methodology.
- Using the directory and sending quote requests is free for homeowners. We forward requests to licensed contractors; we don't charge homeowners and a request is not an obligation to hire anyone.
Contractor listing subscriptions
Contractors can pay for placement. What you buy is position and visibility, not data changes: paid placement is always labeled (Slot number or a Featured badge), and your free basic listing exists whether you pay or not.
- Products. A Slot is a numbered top position (#1, or #2–5) on one county × service page. Featured is a badge plus a lift above non-paying listings. Current prices are on the contractor page.
- Billing. Monthly subscription, billed by Stripe — we email a Stripe invoice or payment link; you pay by card on Stripe's hosted page. Prices are in USD. Founding-rate pricing stays at your original rate for as long as your subscription remains active.
- Placement goes live after payment, on the next site rebuild (normally within hours). If payment fails, Stripe retries; placement is removed if the subscription is canceled after failed payment.
- Cancellation. Cancel any time — reply to any invoice email or write to contact@homehardeningdirectory.com. Your placement stays live until the end of the paid billing period, then the position is released. No cancellation fees.
- Slots are exclusive. One contractor per numbered position per page. If a position is taken, we keep a first-come waiting list.
Refund policy
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. You can cancel any time; the current period runs to its end and we don't charge you again.
- Partial months are not refunded once placement has gone live.
- If we billed you in error, or your placement did not go live, email us and we refund that charge in full.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.
Acceptable use
Don't submit fake quote requests, scrape abusively, or misrepresent yourself as a contractor you are not. We may remove listings or refuse service for abuse. AI agents are welcome — see the agent documentation.
Liability
The site is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the work, conduct, licensing status or insurance of any listed contractor, or for decisions made based on directory data. Our total liability to a paying contractor is limited to the amount paid to us in the three months before the claim.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Material changes to paid subscriptions are announced to subscribers by email. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
